The development space of reclaimed rubber utilization is broad

Recently, the 2014 national information and technology exchange Seminar on waste rubber utilization was held in Linyi City, Shandong Province. At the meeting, Cao Qingxin, Secretary General of waste rubber comprehensive utilization branch of China Rubber Industry Association, focused on the economic operation of the national waste rubber comprehensive utilization industry in 2014.

Large amount of waste tires

In 2013, China had more than 250 million motor vehicles and 140 million cars. Relevant estimates show that the number of motor vehicles in China will exceed 255 million in 2014, and the number of motor vehicles will reach 145 million. Cao Qingxin infers from this that the generation of waste rubber and waste tires in China will be more and more. According to statistics, in 2013, the production of waste tires in China has reached 299 million, with a weight of 10.8 million tons, and is growing at a rate of about 5% - 6% per year.

Reduction of illegal use of waste rubber

Cao Qingxin said that since the second half of 2013, due to the low sales prices of waste rubber and waste tires, two-thirds of employees have withdrawn from the recycling industry. Although there are persistent, its operation is depressed and difficult to maintain.

When Cao Qingxin inspected the recycling of waste tires in Guangzhou, the person in charge of local enterprises told him that the illegal utilization of waste rubber has been greatly reduced through severe crackdown by the state. It is reported that this is a common situation in China.

Recycled rubber is the main utilization mode

On September 15, 2010, the state promulgated the tire industry policy, which made it clear that the "three rubbers" of the rubber industry are natural rubber, synthetic rubber and recycled rubber. In China, 80% of natural rubber and 46% of synthetic rubber need to be imported, while 3 tons of recycled rubber can replace 1 ton of natural rubber and 1.5-2 tons of synthetic recycled rubber can replace 1 ton of synthetic rubber. According to the calculation, in 2013, China produced 2.8 million tons of recycled rubber, which is equivalent to providing more than 1.2 million tons of recycled rubber raw materials for the rubber industry. At the same time, China has also treated more than 5 million tons of waste rubber solid waste, which has contributed to environmental protection and making up for the shortage of rubber resources.

It is predicted that in 2014, the output of recycled rubber will reach 4.1 million tons and the output of rubber powder will reach 550000 tons. The production of 4.1 million tons of recycled rubber requires 3.5 million tons of rubber powder. Together with 550000 tons of directly applied rubber powder, the output of rubber powder will reach 4.05 million tons.

The industry situation is promising next year

Since the sharp decline of commodity prices in 2013, the prices of natural rubber and synthetic rubber have also been in the downward channel, which has also brought challenges to the sales market of recycled rubber. The price of natural rubber has been reduced from 38000 yuan / ton to less than 13000 yuan / ton, and the price of styrene butadiene and cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber in synthetic rubber has also been reduced from 24000 yuan / ton to about 12000 yuan / ton. As a solid waste of waste rubber, the sales volume of recycled rubber, due to the advantages of low price and good quality of rubber raw materials, remains stable and rising, and the sales price is also maintained at 4000-5000 yuan / ton.

2015 is the last year of the 12th Five Year Plan. It is also a key stage for China to change its economic development mode. It is also an important period for China's rubber industry to change from a big country to a powerful country. According to Cao Qingxin's analysis, the rubber industry has a large demand for rubber renewable resources. As a supplement to make up for rubber resources, renewable rubber will have a broader market in the future.
